Our service project committee put together 2 great days of service in our community.  On Friday the 17th, members of our club in conjunction with the Lacey Food Bank, and the LTHS Interact Club distributed 190 turkeys and the fixins’ for families in need in our community.  George Smith and his crew at Walmart in Lanoka Harbor provided the turkeys and Shop Rite helped provide the sides so that families in our community could enjoy a nice family Thanksgiving dinner.  Thank you to Manhattan Bagel in town for handling our lunch order.
On Saturday things started off a little chilly, as it was 20 degrees, club members and some Interact Club members manned our collection bin for non perishable food items to help stock the shelves for the Lacey Food Bank for the upcoming winter months.  It didn’t take long for the chill to subside, as we had many members of our community making food and cash donations to warm up our hearts, and fill the Food Bank shelves.  Thanks to the generosity of the people of Lacey we were able to fill up the Food Bank van 3 times and collected close to a $1,000 in monetary donations.
