The action was fast and furious at Saturday's event.  We had 50 Tournament players vying to be this years' Champion.  After a few hours of play 40 entrants were sent packing and we were down the the last 10 players at the Final Table.  Last years' winner Brian McGauley made it to the final table and was going for the re-peat.  After the smoke cleared, this years' Texas Hold Em' Tournament Champion is Tim Petrin a member of our club.
Thank you all that came out and supported our event, see you next year!

Here We Grow Again!
Our club added two new members to our roster at last week’s meetings.  Joining our club for daytime meetings is Jennifer Clark, sponsored by Jay Pierson. Jennifer works for the Causeway Dealership family in Manahawkin and resides with her family in Forked River.  Our second new member is no stranger to Rotary, as her husband Richard Hyer was one of our club's original members and Janice has been active supporting Rotary events in Lacey for a number of years.  Janice's sponsor is Tony Angona.  Welcome to our club and Rotary Jennifer and Janice!

Our club is Growing!
Our club added 2 new members to our roster through our satellite group at last Tuesday's evening meeting.  Welcome to our club Ashley Hughes and Katie DeSantis.  Both ladies were sponsored by Donna McAvoy.  We also had 2 members complete their assigned tasks and had a Red Ribbon removal ceremony last week. Congratulations Judy Ryan and Gabrielle Spano.  Congratulations to our new Corporate associate Jeff Ryan, who was busy assisting at a local fire in town. His wife Judy accepted his Rotary Pin in his absence.

Harlem Wizards vs Lacey District Teachers Basketball Fundraiser

The Harlem Wizards came to town to play a team of All-Star Teachers from the Lacey School district to help raise funds for the Interact Club at the Lacey High School on Tuesday evening, February 28th.  The gym was packed with fans cheering on their favorite teachers and the game was pretty competitive with the Wizards pulling out a close victory late in the fourth quarter.  The Wizards put on a great show with lots of alley oops and slamdunks to wow the crowd, while exhibiting their basketball skills and entertaining sideshows.  The game was well supported by members of our community as we sold a record number of 890 tickets. Thank you Wizards, Rotarians, and Interactors for putting together a great night of fun, while raising money for scholarships.
